Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Gases in the Earth’s atmosphere that trap heat. The main greenhouse gases are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and a group of chlorine and fluorine-containing gaseous compounds such as hydro fluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons and Sulphur hexafluoride.
