Why we value the Environment
In general, businesses tend to focus more heavily on emission reductions because the current climate crisis has reached such a critical point. However, the importance of protecting our terrestrial and marine ecosystems, sustainably managing our forests, reversing land degradation, halting biodiversity loss, and drastically reducing waste and pollution, cannot be overstated.
How we measure it
We measure environmental impact by looking at the interactions your organisation has with the world around it - from the resources, materials and supplies that you source, to the products and services you produce, the buildings you work in, and the waste streams you discard. We cannot address climate change without also addressing environmental degeneration and biodiversity loss. We believe that businesses have a responsibility to act as stewards of the environment, protecting and restoring ecosystems, and creating a circular and regenerative economy through both their day-to-day and longer-term choices.
